MSU faculty and staff are licensed for free Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for use on work and personal computers. This license allows you to download the most up-to-date version of Office for Windows and/or Office for Mac (currently, Office 2019).

You may install Office ProPlus whenever you'd like.

Choose the right Microsoft 365 subscription for your Mac. Includes the latest AI-powered Office apps, 1 TB of cloud storage, and premium mobile features. Office 365 ProPlus is being renamed to Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. To learn more about this name change, read this blog post. In our documentation, we'll usually just refer to it as Microsoft 365 Apps. Office 365 ProPlus is the version of Office that comes with several enterprise, government, and education subscription plans.

• Download speeds may vary dependent on your connection (wired or wireless).
• While the download may take some time due to its large size, you can begin working in Office 365 shortly after it begins (the system will notify you when ready).

Download Office ProPlus

University of Georgia students, faculty and staff have free access to download and install Office 365 ProPlus software through their online UGAMail account, which is powered by Office 365.

Students and employees may download and install the latest, full version of Office 365 ProPlus software on up to ten of their personal devices (computers, tablets or phones) with Windows or Apple operating systems.

This service was previously available only to students through the Student Advantage program. It is now available to all UGA faculty and staff, according to the University's existing license with Microsoft. The program is not available to retirees.

To install Office 365 ProPlus on desktops, individuals should log in to their web-based UGAMail account (ugamail.uga.edu). If you are off-campus, you will need ArchPass to complete the log-in process.

To install Office 365 ProPlus on mobile devices, go to the App Store or Google Play to find the applications and enter your UGAMail account information.

After that, students will have read-only access to their Microsoft files. They may decide to purchase the Office 365 ProPlus on their own. Students must login to the Internet once at least every 30 days for an automatic check of their license eligibility.

Can I install this software on my University-issued device?

No. This program only applies to personal devices for students and employees, and not to University-owned devices. UGA has a separate agreement with Microsoft for software installation on University-owned devices.
